Sharjah 24: As part of its ongoing parliamentary work and its oversight role, the Sharjah Consultative Council's (SCC) Recommendations Committee held on Tuesday an expanded meeting at the Council's headquarters to discuss the outcomes of the eleventh session, which was dedicated to reviewing and discussing Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department's (SRERD) policies. This meeting took place within the framework of the third regular session of the eleventh legislative term.
Comprehensive review

During the meeting, a comprehensive review was conducted of the most prominent observations and views raised by Council members during the plenary session, particularly those related to developing regulatory procedures, enhancing the efficiency of services provided to clients, and increasing integration between the Department and relevant government entities.

The meeting was chaired by Jassim Mohammed Al Hanawi Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Committee, and attended by Dr Sultan Khamis Al Zaabi, Rapporteur of the Committee, and members Ibrahim Mohammed Juma Al Mansouri, Sultan Ali Al Musafri, and Mohammed Ali Bin Salem Al Ketbi. Also present were Salem Mohammed Al Rashidi, a member of the Consultative Council; Rashid Abdullah Bin Huwaiden, Vice Chairman of the Consultative Council; Meera Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Secretary-General of the Consultative Council; and Saif Bin Suwaif Al Ketbi from the Council's General Secretariat.

The Committee discussed the main themes upon which the final recommendations will be based, in order to keep pace with the urban and investment growth witnessed by the Emirate and to enhance the legal stability of the real estate sector.

Simplifying procedures

The Committee focused its discussions on the importance of simplifying procedures related to registration and documentation processes, expediting transactions, and developing digital services to reduce waiting times and improve performance.

The Committee also emphasised the importance of streamlining procedures related to inherited properties. The committee affirmed that SCC role is to support the efforts of government departments by proposing practical and applicable recommendations that contribute to developing institutional performance and achieving integration among various entities. This will positively impact services for citizens and residents and enhance the comprehensive development process in the Emirate of Sharjah.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee agreed to proceed with drafting the final version of the recommendations, in preparation for presenting them to the Council at a future session for approval. This will contribute to supporting the efforts of the Real Estate Registration Department and developing the real estate system in accordance with best practices.
