Sharjah 24 – AFP: Felix Auger-Aliassime advanced to the semifinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships after defeating Czech eighth seed Jiří Lehečka in straight sets.

The Canadian top seed secured a 6–3, 7–6 (7–2) victory in one hour and 55 minutes to continue his strong run in the ATP 500 tournament.

First set control

Both players held serve through the opening six games to level at 3–3. Auger-Aliassime then applied pressure in the seventh game, earning two break points and converting the second to move ahead 4–3. He maintained momentum on his serve and claimed another break to close the set 6–3.

Tight second set decided by tiebreak

Lehečka started the second set aggressively but failed to convert early break opportunities. The set remained on serve until 6–6, despite Auger-Aliassime earning four break points in the eighth game.

In the tiebreak, the Canadian dominated 7–2 to seal his place in the final four.

Semifinal showdown with Medvedev

Auger-Aliassime will next face third seed Daniil Medvedev, who advanced comfortably with a 6–1, 6–2 win over Jenson Brooksby.
