Al Dhaid Municipality boosts inspections to ensure food safety

Sharjah24: Al Dhaid Municipality has intensified its awareness and inspection campaigns throughout the holy month of Ramadan as part of its proactive plan for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr. Hamad Abdullah Al Ketbi, head of the Health Education Department at the municipality, said the initiative aims to reinforce public health and safety systems and ensure all establishments comply with approved health standards.

Al Ketbi explained that municipal inspection teams are operating under a rigorous field plan covering public kitchen, food outlets, and markets. These campaigns verify full compliance with health requirements in preparation, storage, and display methods, ensuring consumer safety and preventing violations that could affect food quality during Ramadan.

With Eid approaching, the municipality has intensified oversight in high-demand sectors. Specialist teams regularly collect meat samples for detailed laboratory testing to ensure compliance with standards and absence of contaminants. Inspections at beauty salons and barbershops have been increased to verify sterilisation practices, tool safety, and adherence to health standards in anticipation of higher customer volumes. Monitoring has also been strengthened for sweets and other high-demand food items to ensure proper storage and hygienic display.
