The Ramadan series “Sharjah's Ramadan Glows”, broadcast on Sharjah 24, has been showcasing a number of Al Dhaid’s cultural and tourism landmarks, placing particular emphasis on Souq Sharia’t Al Dhaid, which has emerged as a lively gathering place during the holy month.
Engineer Sultan Al Suwaidi, said the development was constructed in a distinctive heritage style, using natural materials such as sarooj, stone and traditional woodwork. The aim, he explained, was to present the UAE’s architectural identity in an authentic and enduring form.Centrally located in Al Dhaid, the souq stands alongside prominent historic landmarks, including Al Dhaid Fort, Al Dhaid Literary Majlis and the Wildlife Museum, and lies close to Sharia’t farms and Al Madharisha Tower, embedding it firmly within the city’s cultural landscape.
Al Suwaidi added that the market comprises 33 retail outlets and five kiosks. Beyond its commercial functions, the project seeks to revitalise the area economically while offering visitors an experience that blends tourism, education, and leisure.
