Sharjah24: The Office of Martyrs’ Families Affairs will organise Wahat Al Karama ceremonies on a weekly basis, taking place every Saturday at 5pm starting from 4 April 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to promote values of pride, loyalty and national belonging within the community.

Cultural and symbolic elements

The ceremony will include the flag salute, a military band performance and a cavalry display, offering an integrated experience that combines national symbolism with cultural and heritage elements, reflecting authentic Emirati traditions and highlighting Wahat Al Karama as a national landmark honouring the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes.

Strengthening community engagement

The initiative aims to encourage families and community members to visit Wahat Al Karama and take part in a shared national experience that strengthens social cohesion and reinforces common values, in line with the UAE’s Year of the Family objectives.

Celebrating heritage and identity

The flag salute symbolises sovereignty and unity, while the military band reflects state prestige and discipline. The cavalry display showcases cultural heritage, linking the present with the country’s historical roots.

Enhancing cultural tourism

The ceremonies also reinforce Wahat Al Karama’s status as a key cultural and tourist destination in Abu Dhabi, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the visitor centre and learn about inspiring national stories.

Interactive weekly experience

Through this initiative, the Office aims to deliver a weekly interactive experience that blends formal ceremony with cultural elements, strengthening national identity and encouraging active community participation.
