Sharjah 24 – AFP: Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey has officially retired from professional football at the age of 35, concluding a career that included five major titles with Arsenal.

The former Wales captain shared the news on Tuesday via Instagram, writing, "This was not an easy decision. After much thought, I have decided to retire from football."

Ramsey included a photo of himself wearing the iconic Welsh number 10 jersey from Euro 2016, where he and teammates, including the now-retired Gareth Bale, reached the semi-finals before losing to Portugal — Wales’ best performance in a major tournament.

Over his international career, Ramsey earned 86 caps and scored 21 goals, also representing Wales at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup. Reflecting on his journey, he said, "It was an honor to wear the Wales jersey and to experience all those wonderful moments with it."
