Al Khudairi confirmed in statements to Sharjah 24 that the workshop aimed to generate ideas and develop new initiatives and activities targeting seniors within the programme’s 2027–2029 strategic plan, contributing to enhancing age-friendly quality of life and improving service standards for this important segment of society.
She added that the workshop aligns with the eight domains of the global age-friendly cities programme, including housing, transportation, social services, and healthcare, among others. This reflects the programme’s commitment to adopting a comprehensive vision that responds to the diverse needs of senior citizens.
Al Khudairi concluded by emphasising that the initiative supports the objectives of the Sharjah Age-Friendly City Programme and the Department of Social Services, aiming to advance services for seniors and provide an age-friendly quality of life that enhances their participation, wellbeing, and stability within society.
