Sharjah 24: As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the role of the family in supporting the educational process and to build effective partnerships with the local community, the Kalba Parents Council, affiliated with the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department, has announced the launch of a new research study titled: “Parents, Sport and Education in the Age of Digital Transformation in Kalba: An Analytical Study.”

The study falls within the work of the Council’s Research and Partnerships Committee and aims to monitor the impact of digital transformation on various components of the local community and its role in developing the educational, social and sporting environment.

Guided by vision and emphasis on scientific research

The launch of the study comes in line with the directives of Dr Sheikha Abdullah Al Zaabi, Chairperson of the Kalba Parents Council, who stressed the importance of employing scientific research to support the education sector and strengthen the integration of roles between families and educational and community institutions. This aligns with Sharjah’s vision of building an integrated knowledge-based society founded on innovation and modern technologies.

Focus on digital transformation and its societal impact

Through this study, the Council seeks to shed light on the reality of digital transformation in Kalba and its impact on the relationship between parents, sporting activities and the quality of education, particularly in light of the growing use of digital technologies across all aspects of daily life.

This research initiative responds to the increasing need to understand the nature of the changes brought about by digital transformation within the local community, especially regarding the role of families in following up on the educational process, encouraging children to participate in sports activities, and engaging with modern educational services.

Addressing research gaps and key questions

The study addresses a central issue: the lack of specialised research that scientifically examines the relationship between these three components — parents, sport and education — within the context of digital transformation, despite the significant progress made in Kalba in developing digital services across educational, social and sporting sectors.

From this standpoint, the study seeks to answer a main question centred on the impact of digital transformation on parents, sport and education in Kalba, alongside several sub-questions exploring the reality of digital transformation in the local community, its influence on family relationships and communication patterns, its role in enhancing community participation in sports activities, and its contribution to improving education quality and learning methods.

Challenges and practical recommendations

The study also examines the challenges that parents and educational and sports institutions may face in optimally utilising digital technologies. At the same time, it aims to present a set of practical proposals and recommendations that can strengthen integration between family, sport and education, thereby supporting a more interactive and responsive educational and social environment in the digital age.

Scientific objectives and areas of analysis

The primary objective of the research is to identify, through a scientific and systematic approach, the impact of digital transformation in these vital areas. This includes determining the level and state of digital transformation in Kalba, analysing its effects on family relationships and communication patterns, examining the role of modern technologies in promoting sports participation across different segments of society, and assessing its impact on education quality and teaching and learning processes within educational institutions.

Remarks on the importance of the study

In this context, Dr Sheikha Abdullah Al Zaabi affirmed that this study aligns with the Council’s vision of promoting a culture of community-based scientific research and providing data-driven insights to support the development of programmes and initiatives that serve students and their families.

She noted that digital transformation has become a defining reality across all aspects of daily life, necessitating a precise understanding of its social, educational and sporting dimensions.

Commitment to future-focused research and community development

She added that the Council is keen to act as an active partner in supporting efforts to advance the educational process in Kalba by encouraging studies and research that address community issues and anticipate future trends. She emphasised that the findings of this study will contribute to offering practical insights and recommendations that enhance integration between families, educational institutions and sports bodies, and support the development of a generation capable of engaging positively with the demands of digital transformation.

Ongoing research efforts and dissemination of findings

She further explained that the Research and Partnerships Committee is currently working to complete the study in accordance with a rigorous scientific methodology to ensure objective results that can contribute to the development of policies and community programmes related to education, sport and family life in Kalba.

She concluded by affirming that the Council will continue to publish the outcomes of these research efforts through its media platforms and community publishing channels to raise public awareness of the importance of digital transformation and its role in supporting educational and societal development.
