Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Tom Berendsen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Discussions on regional security and recent attacks

During the meeting, the two sides discussed regional developments and the serious repercussions of the unprovoked Iranian missile attacks targeting the UAE and other countries. They also reviewed the impact on regional and international security, maritime safety, energy supplies, and the global economy.

Netherlands reaffirms solidarity with UAE

Tom Berendsen reaffirmed his country’s solidarity with the UAE, supporting all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens, residents, and visitors.

UAE appreciates Dutch support

His highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that it reflects the strong relations between the two countries and the Netherlands’ firm support for the UAE following the attacks.

Focus on ceasefire and regional stability

The ministers also reviewed recent developments, including the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, and stressed the importance of strengthening international efforts to enhance security, stability, and peace in the region.

Expanding bilateral cooperation

The meeting also covered ways to develop bilateral relations and expand cooperation across various sectors to serve mutual interests and promote growth and prosperity.

The meeting was attended by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, and Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology.
