A landmark encyclopaedia completed
One of the most notable achievements of the year was the completion of the Encyclopaedia of Rhetorical Interpretation of the Holy Quran, the inaugural encyclopaedic scholarly endeavour focused on elucidating the linguistic and expressive marvels of the Quranic text. The project has been completed across 68 volumes, a substantial undertaking by any measure.
Advancing Quranic recitation
The academy continued to develop its Quranic Readings Curriculum project, releasing new editions, including the recitation of Asim Al Kufi through the narrations of Shu'ba and Hafs. Each edition comes with detailed explanations, special printed copies of the Quran, and new teaching materials to keep the study of recitation both preserved and easy to access.
International quality standards
The Quran Academy has secured three internationally recognised management system certifications: ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety management, and ISO 22301 for business continuity management. These certifications demonstrate the organisation's advancement in its operational practices. Together, these accreditations reflect SHQA's commitment to operational excellence and its capacity to sustain its work to the highest global standards.
Embracing digital innovation
In its continuous digital transformation, SHQA has created "Al Mu'een", an AI-driven application aimed at enhancing the learning of Quranic recitation and memorisation. This innovative tool provides users with a sophisticated interactive experience that effectively integrates this ancient discipline into contemporary contexts.
A global community of learners
The statistics highlighting SHQA's educational impact are impressive. The Maqra'a programmes catered to 1,060 students from 172 countries, with 746 individuals successfully obtaining Quranic certifications. During 2025, 453 complete recitations were recorded, and 382 Ijazas were granted. SHQA received 1,361 enrolment applications, of which 108 were accepted following a rigorous selection process, with 10 Emirati reciters currently among its ranks.
Specialist courses benefited 132 participants, and another 363 took part in various academic training programs. Book listening sessions resulted in the issuance of 3,811 academic Ijazahs to participants from more than 50 countries.
A library and museum of rare distinction
The academy's library holds approximately 10,000 scholarly titles across more than 176,000 volumes. Its Quranic museums, which house over 500 rare manuscripts, attracted 6,684 visitors during the year—part of a total of 12,201 visits received by the SHQA throughout 2023.
Reaching millions online
In addition to its physical locations, SHQA garnered over 53 million views on its digital platforms, underscoring its extensive reach and the increasing demand for Quranic knowledge in the digital age.
Together, these achievements confirm SHQA's position as a world-class centre of knowledge—one that serves the Quran and its sciences with scholarship, vision, and an enduring sense of purpose.
