Sharjah 24: The Kalba Sports and Cultural Club's youth volleyball teams (A) and (B) achieved a remarkable feat, winning both titles of the General League Championship for the 2025-2026 season. This victory came after their well-deserved wins in the final matches against Al Wasl Club and Mleiha Club, with both teams securing straight-set victories. The matches were held last week, with the same scoreline in both games.

High quality of the technical and organisational work

This triumph followed a perfect run for both teams, remaining undefeated throughout the event. This success is a testament to the high quality of the technical and organisational work, as well as the significant efforts of the coaching staff, led by coach Awad Imam and Tunisian coach Ihab Khalifi, and overseen by the General Technical Director, Captain Ahmed Nada Hilal.

The coronation ceremony was attended by His Excellency Osama Abdullah Gargash, Vice President of the UAE Volleyball Federation, and Dr Basem Hassan Al Naqbi, a member of the Federation's Board of Directors and Advisor to its President, along with His Excellency Rashid Saeed Al Kindi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kalba Club, and several other board members.

Al Kindi expressed his delight at this well-deserved achievement, extending his thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairman of the Ruler's Office in Khorfakkan and Chairman of the Club, and Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairman of the Ruler's Office in Kalba and Vice Chairman of the Club, for their continuous support and keen interest in the work of the Board of Directors.

Al Kindi also commended the significant role played by the Sharjah Sports Council, chaired by Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Humaid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, for its prominent contribution to supporting clubs and developing sports activities in the emirate. He emphasised that this achievement reflects the club's strategic plan aimed at building a generation of players capable of competing and reaching the podium, thus contributing to supplying the national teams with outstanding talent, in line with the vision of the Sharjah Sports Council.

Outstanding technical level

For his part, His Excellency Osama Abdullah Gargash praised the outstanding technical level presented by the two teams, commending the great efforts of the technical and administrative staff and their vital role in honing the players’ skills. He also noted the prominent role played by the board of directors of Kalba Club in spreading the game of volleyball and paying attention to the age groups sector, which enhances the future of the game and establishes a strong base of national talents.
