The opening was attended by Mohammed Obaid Al Hosan, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Sports Council, and Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, along with board members.
The inauguration coincided with the Khorfakkan Land Rowing Championship, which saw the participation of 130 male and female athletes.
The centre operates under the supervision of the club and is equipped with the latest tools and facilities, aiming to utilise the city’s waterfront to host local competitions and attract international championships.
As part of his field visit programme to sports clubs, Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi also visited the Dibba Al Hisn Cultural Sports Club and Dibba Al Hisn Football Company.
At the club, he was received by Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al Motoua, Chairman of the Board, Ali Mohammed Yaroof, Secretary-General, and board members. At the company, he was welcomed by Mohammed Abdullah Al Tarban, Chairman of the Board, and Ahmed Murad Al Ameri, Head of the Professional Committee and First Team, along with members.
Accompanied by Mohammed Obaid Al Hosan, Sheikh Dr Khalid toured the facilities and reviewed operational plans, programmes, and future challenges.
