Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) has praised two mothers associated with the organisation following the launch of their new books—an achievement that emphasises the impact of empowerment initiatives and the Foundation’s role in fostering confidence, skills, and creative expression among mothers.

Writer Maryam Al Ketbi has launched her latest book, Pulse and Surprise, a collection of reflective human stories capturing emotional depth and life experiences. Creative author Lilian Ali published her book, When My Heart Bleeds, Life Gave Me Birth, an honest and heartfelt journey filled with hope, resilience, and the power to rebuild oneself despite adversity. Both works make meaningful contributions to the cultural scene and highlight the creative potential nurtured through the Foundation’s empowerment programmes.

Empowerment programmes unlocking mothers’ talents

Monira Al Yafei, Deputy Director General, expressed pride in the mothers’ achievements, noting that these publications are the fruitful results of empowerment initiatives aimed at enhancing skills, self-confidence, and creative drive. She emphasised the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting mothers in realising their ambitions and increasing their presence in cultural forums.

Maryam Al Ketbi shares her literary journey

Al Ketbi explained that 'Pulse and Surprise,' published by Tanween Publishing, debuted at this year’s Sharjah International Book Fair and reflects four years of continuous emotional writing. The book features reflective thoughts, poetic texts, and open-ended short stories designed to allow readers space to interpret and find personal resonance. She described the work as a deeply sincere effort to create fine literature that remains close to the heart.

Lilian Ali’s work turns pain into strength

Mother and author Lilian Ali stated that her book is not just a narrative, but the story of someone overcoming wounds with resolve and faith in God. Inspired by real-life experiences, the book delivers messages of healing, self-discovery, and transcendence. Ali hopes her work reaches wider audiences through regional and international exhibitions, providing readers with a glimmer of hope and a reminder that new beginnings often arise from the darkest moments.

A meaningful contribution to the cultural community

Both publications embody the passion of mothers who have turned personal experiences into creative expression. Their works enrich the cultural forum and offer readers stories grounded in authenticity, resilience, and inspiration.
