The case began when the mother recently arrived in the UAE after many years of hardship that started from the birth of her child. She had endured unstable family circumstances that deprived her of seeing him. Her difficulties worsened following her separation from her husband and the loss of her income, ultimately forcing her to leave the UAE in 2013.
Since then, she embarked on a long, distressing journey in search of her son, trying to understand his living, health and educational conditions. After exhausting all options, she managed to return to the country and approached Sharjah Police for any information that might restore her hope.
Driven by their humanitarian duty, the Social Protection and Prevention Department immediately launched precise and swift search efforts through relevant systems and authorities. A specialised team of social workers verified the young man’s whereabouts and living conditions.
After extensive efforts carried out in record time, the team successfully located him and coordinated the arrangements for the long-awaited reunion. The emotional meeting took place after more than 12 years of separation, reflecting the profound humanitarian role Sharjah Police play in safeguarding families and ensuring children’s rights.
Brigadier Ahmed Al Marri, Director of the Social Protection and Prevention Department, affirmed that this humanitarian achievement reflects the approach of the Sharjah Police, guided by the vision of the wise leadership to promote family stability and provide social support to all members of the community.
He praised the efforts of the specialised teams and their vital role in handling sensitive cases that profoundly affect family wellbeing. He added that the ability to end human suffering and restore hope is among the greatest contributions an institution can make to society, reaffirming Sharjah Police’s commitment to strengthening values of compassion and social cohesion.
