She explained that developing the academic and professional capabilities offered to persons with disabilities provides them with meaningful opportunities to improve their quality of life and equips them with the knowledge and skills needed to acquire competencies in line with best practice.
Sheikha Jameela emphasised that this cooperation between Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services and the Women’s Union Association is not the first and will not be the last, expressing confidence that it will continue to contribute to enhancing the skills, capabilities, empowerment, and social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
She noted that SCHS has always prioritised strengthening cooperation with institutions and entities locally, regionally, and internationally, while ensuring the sustainability of services for persons with disabilities through collaboration with all partners.
Sheikha Jameela extended her sincere thanks and appreciation to Her Excellency Sheikha Aisha bint Khalid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Women’s Union Association, as well as to all staff and trainers who contribute their expertise to training persons with disabilities and achieving optimal outcomes.
These remarks were made during a visit by Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi to the Women’s Union Association on Wednesday morning, 18 December 2025, where she reviewed training programmes offered to graduates of the Masarat Centre for Development and Empowerment.
During a meeting with Her Excellency Sheikha Aisha bint Khalid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Association, attended by Her Excellency Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafie, Director General of SCHS, and Her Excellency Sara bin Karam, Director General of the Women’s Union Association, both sides discussed ways to further develop cooperation.
For her part, Her Excellency Sheikha Aisha bint Khalid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi affirmed that cooperation with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services is a leading model of sustainable community partnership and reflects the Union’s commitment to supporting humanitarian and developmental initiatives that empower individuals and promote their integration into society.
She explained that the Women’s Union Association plays a pivotal role in supporting and empowering women across social, cultural, economic, and professional fields through training and qualification programmes that develop capabilities, refine skills, and enhance women’s participation in the path of sustainable development.
She added that the Association opens its doors to all women without exception, recognising the importance of equal opportunities and supporting women of all ages and abilities, including women with disabilities, so they can actively contribute to society, achieve independence, and rely on themselves.
Sheikha Aisha praised the efforts of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services and its pioneering role in caring for and rehabilitating people with disabilities, emphasising the Association’s commitment to strengthening frameworks for cooperation and expertise exchange to achieve a lasting positive impact and to serve shared humanitarian and developmental goals.
