The iftar programme included the distribution of Eid gifts to the children, a thoughtful gesture aimed at sharing joy with them, bringing happiness and delight to their hearts, and reinforcing the values of celebration and positivity.
Her Excellency Sheikha Jamila Al Qasimi expressed her delight at sharing the Ramadan iftar with the children and staff, saying: “Under the current circumstances, we affirm our continued commitment to our humanitarian mission and to strengthening our community presence. I was delighted to meet our orphaned children and the staff of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation in an atmosphere that reflects the spirit of one family that characterises our society.
Being close to orphaned children and listening to them is an important aspect of supporting them, as it strengthens their confidence and reinforces their sense of belonging. The holy month of Ramadan embodies the values of solidarity and compassion, reminding us that caring for orphans is not limited to material support. It also extends to human inclusion and to building balanced and aware personalities capable of shaping their future with confidence and stability.”
Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, confirmed in a statement: “These Ramadan gatherings form part of the Foundation’s efforts to strengthen human connections with the children and to create a positive social environment that supports their psychological and social stability. Through such initiatives, we strive to ensure that children feel close to the Foundation and share in the details of their lives.
Especially during occasions with spiritual and social significance, such as the holy month, communal iftar not only brings us together around one table but also strengthens bonds of love and reflects the institution’s message of caring for and empowering children. It also surrounds them with a supportive environment that provides reassurance and a sense of family warmth under the current circumstances.”
The communal iftars form part of a series of Ramadan activities organised by the Foundation under the “Feed Them” project, one of the key initiatives of the “Zakki” Ramadan campaign, which aims to support and empower families while improving their quality of life.
Throughout Ramadan, the Foundation continues its “Zakki” campaign, which combines spiritual and social dimensions, based on the belief that sincere support can create a lasting positive impact on orphans and their families beyond the holy month.
