Belhaif Al Nuaimi: Sharjah’s 2026 budget meets community needs

Sharjah24: His Excellency Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), affirmed that the Emirate of Sharjah’s 2026 budget reflects the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and translates them into practical policies that prioritise citizens’ needs and sustainable development.

Al Nuaimi explained that the SCC discussed the 2026 budget for Sharjah Government departments and authorities with the Central Department of Finance during its session on Thursday. He noted that the discussions were comprehensive and focused on ensuring the budget responds effectively to society's needs in the coming year.

Balanced spending and returns

According to Al Nuaimi, the 2026 budget strikes a balanced approach to expenditure and revenue, while maintaining flexibility to enhance financial returns. He added that the Council examined ways to develop revenue streams and rationalise spending, ensuring that public funds are used efficiently and responsibly.

People-first approach

Al Nuaimi stressed that the budget places citizens at its core, particularly in relation to social well-being and quality of life. He extended his appreciation to the Central Department of Finance for its tangible efforts in preparing a budget that supports Sharjah’s economic and social development.
