Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, the Director General of the Foundation, highlighted the inspiring vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. She emphasized his strong commitment to supporting projects that promote sustainable development. This particular project shows His Highness's dedication to empowering people and improving social work, while also reinforcing the values of generosity and social responsibility in the community.
Al Suwaidi shared that the project celebrated the opening of its first endowment building, which received generous support from His Highness. Additionally, funding for a second endowment building has been completed with help from Dubai Islamic Bank and contributions from the community. This progress opens up exciting opportunities for building even more endowment facilities in the future. Overall, it aligns with Sharjah's vision of incorporating humanitarian efforts into broader development goals.
The project has successfully reached out to the community by hosting 30 awareness tours across the country. These tours involved different organizations and helped highlight how important endowments are and the positive impact they can have on our development.
Many individuals and donors have generously supported the project, which has led to around 800 people making monthly contributions to endowments and more than 1,600 endowment deeds being issued. There’s also been a noticeable increase in the use of online donation options, which is crucial for keeping the foundation's programs running smoothly.
On the ground, we celebrated the opening of the first endowment building, thanks to generous funding from His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. Funding for a second building has also been secured, with support from Dubai Islamic Bank and community contributions. We are now working to fund a third building, and we’ve already covered 20% of the construction costs. This demonstrates that the community trusts the project and is committed to supporting and expanding its important humanitarian work.
