Sharjah 24: Al Wusta Channel from Al Dhaid, under the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, airs the programme “Al-Mudhamir Al-Sagheer” as part of its vision to preserve the heritage of the central desert region. The show targets young audiences, teaching them the skills and techniques of preparing camels for races, known as tadhmeer.

Exciting weekly episodes

The programme is broadcast every Wednesday at 6:30 PM, presented by media host Saeed Al Qamzi alongside a group of young participants. Across a series of episodes, they train and prepare the camels for major races, culminating in the crowning of the winners amid a lively and exciting atmosphere.

Supporting Sharjah’s cultural vision

The programme reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who emphasises preserving heritage, especially camel racing. Al Dhaid hosts annual camel racing festivals organised by the Ruler and Al Wusta Channel, aiming to strengthen Emirati identity and connect generations through desert traditions.

Impact and audience engagement

Latifa Hilal Al Tunaiji, Director of Al Wusta Channel, noted that the programme successfully conveys the region’s cultural heritage to young audiences. It has received positive feedback from participants and strong engagement from viewers, highlighting its innovative concept and success.
