The championship is organised by the UAE Badminton Federation, with the support of the UAETSS, and hosted by Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club. It forms part of a national plan aimed at building an integrated system for discovering and nurturing sports talents across the country.
His Excellency Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary for the Sports Development and Competitiveness Sector at the Ministry of Sports, and Chairman of the UAE Committee for Talent and Sport Support, affirmed that the championship translates the Ministry’s vision of building a new generation of athletes capable of representing the UAE at regional and international events. He noted that the event marks the starting point for a series of championships and programmes dedicated to nurturing talented athletes across various individual and team sports.
He added that the Sports Talents Badminton Championship represents a strategic step in preparing champions and refining talents, reflecting aspirations to develop national capabilities and strengthen the UAE’s presence in racket sports. He explained that the event is not merely a competitive championship, but a national message aimed at instilling a culture of sport among young people and motivating them towards excellence and achievement.
For her part, Noura Al Jasmi, President of the UAE Badminton Federation, confirmed that organising this championship embodies the Federation’s commitment to supporting the talent identification strategy and expanding the base of badminton players. She noted that the championship serves as a key platform for discovering promising players capable of representing national teams in the future.
She invited all sports clubs and academies across the country to take part in the championship, noting that the official website of the UAE Badminton Federation will announce registration details and participation requirements in the coming days.
The championship includes 10 categories for UAE nationals and 10 categories for other nationalities from across the Emirates, covering age groups under 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 for both boys and girls.
