The inspection visits aim to prevent unauthorised activities, improper land use, or practices inconsistent with the purpose for which farms were allocated, and to ensure that no activities are carried out without the required permits or licences. The tours form part of the committee’s ongoing efforts to regulate farms across the Emirate of Sharjah.
Led by Khaled bin Falah Al Suwaidi, Director of Customer Services at Sharjah City Municipality and Chairman of the Committee, the delegation visited farms in the Al Zubair area, accompanied by committee members representing several government entities. During the visits, the committee commended a number of farm owners for investing in their farms in a proper and optimal manner, particularly in agricultural production and animal husbandry, in line with their approved licences.
Al Suwaidi stressed that farms in Sharjah are allocated to support productive use that benefits owners, contributes to food security, and supplies the local market with fresh produce.
The committee also identified farms requiring corrective action and took the necessary regulatory and administrative measures to raise owners’ awareness of compliance requirements. Inspection tours will continue to ensure adherence to regulations and to promote sustainable farm use that benefits both owners and the wider community.
