Sharjah24: Emirati photographer Ahmed Alshehhi shared deep professional insights into the art of nature photography and the powerful concept of visual flow — the technique that guides the viewer’s eye toward the most important element in an image — during a specialised discussion session at the 10th edition of the Xposure International Photography Festival 2026.

These insights were presented during a focused panel session titled “Visual Flow: From Concept to Final Image”, held as part of Xposure 2026 events at Aljada in Sharjah.

Leading the viewer’s eye is the core challenge

Speaking to Sharjah24 on the sidelines of the festival, Alshehhi explained that one of the most demanding and delicate challenges in nature photography is directing the viewer’s gaze across the frame in a purposeful and harmonious way. He noted that visual flow is a refined compositional method that builds a balanced visual relationship between image elements and naturally draws attention to the focal subject.

From idea to final artistic frame

Alshehhi stressed that visual flow is not accidental but follows a structured, creative process that begins at the idea stage and continues through planning, composition, and execution until the final artistic result is achieved. He described it as a disciplined visual pathway that shapes how the image is read and emotionally received.

Nature photography as emotional storytelling

He added that nature photography goes far beyond merely documenting a passing moment. Instead, it serves as an expressive visual language that carries the photographer’s feelings and sensory experience at the time of capture, allowing viewers to relive the moment and connect emotionally with the scene as it was truly seen and felt by the photographer.
