The awards were given out by Tariq Saeed Allay, who is the head of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of the SGMB.
The award has culminated in a remarkable celebration of creativity, recognising filmmakers from around the world, including Danish Farhan, who won the Best Cinematic Arts category for Bedouins of the Wind, and Sergios DeLaurentis for Crimson Silence.
Organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), this award seeks to enhance the influential capacity of visual storytelling. It underscores the organizers’ commitment to presenting visual media as a universal language that transcends boundaries and highlights shared human experiences.
Danish Farhan, a storyteller and photographer, articulated that events such as Xposure celebrate photographers, particularly emphasizing the judges' focus on storytelling. He noted that while elements such as technology, lighting, cinematography, and time are essential components in the creation of photographic art, the foundation of this art is fundamentally rooted in its narrative.
Speaking to “Sharjah 24,” Sergios DeLaurentis, a director and writer, mentioned several key criteria that contribute to the impact of a film: vision, narrative, writing, and cinematography. He asserted that these elements must be cohesive and aligned with the director's conceptual framework. Adhering to this vision is crucial for a director’s success.
