Moza Al Ali has participated in Sharjah Heritage Days for many years, playing an important role in showcasing traditional customs and sharing the UAE’s cultural heritage with the community.
This year, she could not attend the festival at Al Hamriya Heritage Village, which ran from 6 to 8 February 2026, due to her health. Officials from the council and municipality visited her home to check on her well-being and to present her with a commemorative shield as a mark of appreciation for her dedication.
Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriya Municipality, said the tribute reflects the leadership’s commitment to honouring loyalty and recognising those who contribute to society. “Recognition should reflect the value of the contribution itself, not the timing or location,” he explained.
The council and municipality are working together on initiatives to foster a culture of appreciation and to celebrate individuals who support their community. These efforts aim to safeguard local cultural traditions and strengthen national identity.
The Chairman of Al Hamriya Municipal Council, Humaid Saif bin Samha Al Shamsi, emphasised that respect and mutual recognition are the foundation of Emirati society. “Honouring Ms Al Ali sends a message of gratitude to all who care for our heritage and work to pass it on to future generations,” he said.
He added that the council makes a point of acknowledging older residents and those who participate in community events year after year. “These people help keep our families and neighbourhoods close-knit,” he said. “Celebrating them fits with the Year of the Family 2026, which is all about looking after one another, keeping traditions alive, and highlighting the central role of the family in our society.”
