Sharjah24: The seventh edition of the Al Dhaid Ramadan Forum has commenced at Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club, marking the start of a renewed community initiative throughout the holy month of Ramadan. The forum brings together sports programmes and cultural activities within an integrated framework that reflects the spirit of Ramadan and strengthens social cohesion and communication among community members.

The forum features a wide range of activities, including sports competitions and meaningful cultural programmes, reflecting a balance between spiritual enrichment and physical fitness. These initiatives reaffirm the club’s mission to deliver programmes that combine benefit and enjoyment for all age groups.

Among the key highlights is the “Sport Before Iftar” programme, which provides participants with the opportunity to engage in physical activity at suitable times before breaking their fast, encouraging healthy lifestyles in a motivating Ramadan atmosphere.

Competitive tournaments and cultural initiatives

The annual volleyball tournament adds a strong competitive dimension, featuring exciting matches between participating teams and enhancing the vibrant Ramadan atmosphere at the club.

On the cultural side, the Al Dhaid Club Holy Quran Competition continues to attract participants of various age groups, promoting positive competition in Qur’an recitation and memorisation while reinforcing its noble values among youth.

The shooting championship has also drawn significant interest, particularly from senior citizens and young participants, as it revives a traditional sport that emphasises precision and focus in an energetic Ramadan environment.

Strengthening the social role of sports clubs

His Excellency Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club, affirmed that the Ramadan Forum reflects the social role of sports clubs in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. He noted that such initiatives help create an interactive environment that combines sport and culture while strengthening intergenerational ties in a spirit of unity and goodwill.

For his part, Khalifa Mubarak bin Dalmook Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Cultural and Community Development Committee at Al Dhaid Club, praised the forum’s diverse programmes that attract all segments of society. He also commended the continued support of the Sharjah Sports Council, the Sharjah Quran Foundation, and all supporting entities that have played a key role in the success of this annual event.
