Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) continues its efforts to develop and upgrade the street lighting network as part of its strategic plan to improve infrastructure and enhance lighting efficiency in the emirate. During 2025, 4,359 new light poles were installed, 35,166 maintenance operations were performed on existing street lighting assets, and the street lighting network was extended by a total length of 215,834 metres. Work also continues on other vital projects currently underway.
Implementation according to the highest standards
 
Engineer Ahmed Al-Bas, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department, explained that SEWA is committed to implementing its plan to illuminate all areas according to the highest standards. This includes selecting the appropriate lighting type for each area, using varying pole lengths and innovative designs to ensure the safety of road users and enhance the aesthetic appeal of all areas in the emirate.
