Sharjah 24: Ali Abdullah bin Nouma Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Organising Committee, announced that the 31st Al Dhaid Ramadan Open Shooting Championship, held on Friday evening, 27 February, at the club’s shooting hall, is witnessing strong participation.

Organised by Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club under the patronage of the Sharjah Sports Council and supervised by the UAE Shooting Federation, the event has attracted more than 200 participants in the community competitions, including local residents and Arab nationals living in the region.

Platform for community engagement

Al Ketbi explained that the championship is designed to bring together all segments of society, from young shooters to adults, in a friendly yet competitive Ramadan atmosphere.

Competition structure and national importance

In remarks to “Sharjah 24,” he stated that the tournament includes several stages, beginning with community competitions and culminating in professional contests. He noted that the championship’s inclusion on the UAE Shooting Federation calendar reflects its technical significance and contribution to developing the sport nationwide.

Appreciation for support

Al Ketbi expressed appreciation to the Sharjah Sports Council for its continued support of sporting events across the emirate and to Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club for hosting one of the region’s longest-running sporting events, now in its 31st edition. He also praised the UAE Shooting Federation for its supervision and guidance throughout the tournament.
