The scholars praised the leading role of the Holy Quran Academy in serving the Holy Quran and preserving its rich heritage dating back to the 2nd century AH. They emphasised the Quran’s importance in building society and instilling civilisational values that elevate both individuals and humanity as a whole. They also lauded the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in establishing this grand institution that offers unique experiences showcasing Quranic treasures across the ages, extending its impact worldwide.
This came during the participation of the scholars, guests of His Highness the President, in the Ramadan Nights revival programme organised by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments. They were received by Dr Khalifa Musabeh bin Ahmed Al Tuneiji, Chairman of the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah, Dr Abdullah Khalaf Al Hosani, Secretary-General, and several directors and department heads.
Dr Al Tuneiji welcomed the scholars, highlighting the UAE’s significant global role in serving the Quran through specialised institutions and initiatives. These include spreading Quranic knowledge, printing the Holy Quran, promoting the Prophetic Sunnah, and launching local and international Quranic competitions and awards. He noted that these efforts have established the UAE as a shining beacon in serving the Holy Quran.
Al Tuneiji also briefed the scholars on the Academy’s encyclopaedic scientific projects and introduced the “Fruit of the Fruit” initiative, which trains Sharjah Qur’anic school graduates from 172 countries to teach the authorised Quranic readings in their home nations. He also shared plans for several new scientific projects to be launched by the Complex.
The scholars toured the Quranic museums, exploring the history of Quranic manuscripts, rare copies, the museum of Quranic readings, notable reciters and their collections, and even the Kiswa of the Holy Kaaba.
The guests expressed admiration for the Complex, describing it as a landmark in Quranic knowledge and civilisation. They thanked the Ruler of Sharjah for his dedication to this unique cultural and educational icon, which attracts students of knowledge from around the world.
