Sharjah24: Coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has connected electricity services to 13 new mosques across various areas of the Emirate of Sharjah. This includes nine mosques in the city of Sharjah, three in Khorfakkan, and one mosque in Kalba.

The connections were carried out according to the highest specifications that take into account safety and security procedures, in implementation of the directives of Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to care for the houses of God and provide them with all necessary capabilities and advanced facilities, while keeping pace with the population and urban expansion witnessed across the emirate.

Services Provided to Mosques in Khorfakkan

Engineer Saud Abdulaziz, Director of the Khorfakkan Department at SEWA, explained that, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, services were connected to three mosques in the city of Khorfakkan according to the highest standards and specifications.

He added that the work was carried out through the outstanding efforts of SEWA’s work teams, and that all connection works and technical tests were completed to ensure the readiness of the mosques and the implementation of high-efficiency standards in electrical installations, in line with the authority’s policies.

Ensuring services for mosques in Kalba

Engineer Youssef Mohammed Abdullah Al Hammadi, Director of the Kalba Department, noted that the authority is keen to provide services across all areas of the emirate. He explained that services are connected to mosques immediately after receiving the connection documents from the contractor and the connection certificate.

He stressed that serving the houses of God is placed at the top of the authority’s priorities, especially during this blessed month, noting that technical teams work around the clock to ensure stable and high-quality services.

Enhancing comfort for worshippers

Engineer Ahmed Al Bass, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department, affirmed that connecting services to mosques reflects the authority’s commitment to providing comfort for worshippers, strengthening the spiritual atmosphere, and supporting the development of mosques across the Emirate of Sharjah.

He noted that SEWA attaches great importance to connecting services to all mosques in Sharjah once construction works and connection procedures are completed. He added that the process is carried out through continuous cooperation and coordination between SEWA and the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs to provide the best services for residents of the emirate, develop work mechanisms and systems, and enhance awareness and guidance in the use of resources. He explained that the new mosques are distributed across several areas in the city of Sharjah.
