Al Hammadi explained in statements to Sharjah 24 that members of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee studied the articles of the law in detail. Several amendments were introduced in the interests of the project and discussed during the session with government representatives. All of them received government approval.
He noted that the draft law comprises 18 articles, with amendments to certain provisions relating to the powers of the university director and the directors of the academies covered by the law, namely the Visual Academy and the Performing Academy.
Al Hammadi expressed hope that the university will become a distinguished academic institution, adding to Sharjah’s educational and cultural institutions and supporting the emirate’s growing reputation in higher education and the arts.
