The programme featured a panel discussion titled “The Story of Buhais” and a field tour exploring the region’s geological formation over millions of years, including the ophiolite rock formation dating back approximately 93 million years.
Al Ketbi explained that the initiative aims to enhance the youth’s understanding of Sharjah’s geological history through expert-led discussions and on-site exploration.
He added that the programme is part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness among youth council members of environmental projects, highlighting Buhais Geological Park as a leading eco-tourism destination.
The initiative offers participants an immersive experience linking science, history and the environment, while reinforcing appreciation for the emirate’s natural heritage.
