Sharjah 24 – AFP: The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) plans to extend the contract of Italy’s Carlo Ancelotti as head coach of the national team until 2030, according to CBF President Samir Chaudge.

Ongoing negotiations ahead of World Cup

Ancelotti, 66, has reportedly been in discussions with the federation for several months regarding the continuation of his role beyond the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Official announcement expected before tournament

Speaking during the FootPro Expo event in Fortaleza, Chaudge said he was “certain” the extension would be officially announced before the start of the World Cup, noting that some legal procedures still need to be finalised by both parties.

Ancelotti keen to continue with Brazil

Ancelotti has previously expressed his desire to continue working with Brazil following the start of his tenure last June, as part of efforts to return the Seleção to the top of world football.
