SEWA opens Al Hamriyah 11 Power Transmission Station

Sharjah24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has announced the operation of the Hamriyah 11 station for electricity transmission with a capacity of 33/11 kilovolts, at a total cost of AED 30 million, as part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to develop and enhance the infrastructure of power transmission and distribution networks in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Strategic expansion to support energy networks

Engineer Hamad Al Teneiji, Director of the Power Transmission Department, confirmed that the operation of the Hamriyah 11 station comes within the Authority’s comprehensive strategic plan to expand the scope of power transmission and distribution networks, support the stability and sustainability of electricity supply across various areas of the Emirate, and meet the needs of population growth, urban expansion, and future development projects.

Technical specifications of the station

Engineer Abdullah Al Kous, Deputy Director of the Power Transmission Department, explained that the station includes three main transformers with a capacity of 20 megavolt-amperes each, in addition to 8 breakers with a voltage of 33 kilovolts and 27 breakers with a voltage of 11 kilovolts, along with a capacitor bank to enhance network efficiency.

Smart systems and operational standards

He added that the station has been connected to the network and operated in accordance with the highest standards of quality, security, and safety, and has been equipped with smart systems that allow precise monitoring and operation of equipment to ensure service continuity and performance efficiency. The project was implemented under the supervision of the Power Transmission Department.
