The examinations included 3,229 samples analysed at the main Water Quality Laboratory and 1,937 samples tested across various water and desalination plant laboratories. This effort is part of the Authority’s continuous round-the-clock monitoring of water quality across all areas and stations, ensuring safe and reliable water reaches all consumers.
Engineer Abdulrahman Bukhallaf, Director of Water and Desalination Plants at the Authority, affirmed that SEWA deploys its technical and operational capabilities to supply consumers with high-quality drinking water that complies with internationally approved health standards. He added that the Authority keeps pace with scientific advancements in water testing by regularly upgrading equipment and devices to maintain the highest accuracy.
Bukhallaf explained that SEWA operates seven specialised laboratories, including the Water Quality Laboratory in the Halwan area and six technical laboratories distributed across water and desalination plants. These laboratories monitor water quality from the desalination stage until it reaches consumers and are equipped with advanced technologies and qualified staff to ensure an effective monitoring system.
He added that the Authority continues to respond to population growth and urban expansion in Sharjah. Recently, the number of sampling points in the Sharjah city water network was increased to 70 locations, enhancing continuous monitoring and ensuring sustained efficiency in water quality.
Bukhallaf noted that SEWGA provides several channels for receiving customer feedback related to water quality. These include the Authority’s website, mobile application, and the 24/7 call centre.
