The meeting was held at the Mleiha Archaeological Centre, where attendees discussed ways to further develop the work of the councils and enhance the level of their services to strengthen community participation. This meeting falls within the framework of SDAD’s commitment to monitoring the councils and improving their performance, which contributes to building a cohesive society that enjoys prosperity and stability.

Empowering districts councils

The meeting also emphasised providing continuous support to empower the district councils and to enhance direct communication with residents to identify their needs and receive their feedback and suggestions, considering these a foundation for continuous development in community work.

Strengthening cooperation between the department and the councils

Several proposals and field observations aimed at developing the councils' operational mechanisms and enhancing their social and service-oriented role were discussed. Attendees emphasised the department's commitment to turning these proposals into actionable plans that meet the needs of the suburbs and improve the quality of life for community members.

The meeting also reviewed the most significant achievements of the suburban councils over the past period and explored ways to strengthen cooperation between the department and the councils to ensure the continuity and development of services, keeping pace with population growth and urban development in the emirate's suburbs.
