Sharjah 24: In a move that strengthens Arab cooperation in youth work and reflects the deep fraternal ties between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco, the Rubu' Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators in Sharjah welcomed a delegation from the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication. The visit aimed to explore the Foundation's pioneering experience and its pivotal role in building and empowering conscious and influential generations capable of leading the future.

Strengthening cooperation

This visit, which took place from December 7 to 13, 2025, is part of a joint programme for exchanging expertise and experiences between the Rubu' Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators and the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication. The programme aims to solidify effective cooperation and partnership between the two sides and open broad horizons for launching future initiatives based on best practices and leading experiences that enhance the comprehensive development system. This will elevate the expertise of the youth of Sharjah and the Kingdom of Morocco and cultivate young leaders capable of positively impacting their communities.

The delegation was received by Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director General of the Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, and the directors of the Rubu’ Qarn’s member organisations: Sharjah Children, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, Sharjah Youth, and the Sharjah Foundation for Capacity Development.

The visiting delegation included Ms Kenza Abu Rumman, Director of the Youth Sector at the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication of the Kingdom of Morocco, and several heads of strategic and executive departments within the Ministry.

Believing in youth

In a speech imbued with the spirit of Arab brotherhood during the official opening of the programme, Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi welcomed the visiting delegation to Sharjah, saying: “Our meeting today is not merely a meeting of official delegations, but rather a bond of kinship uniting two countries bound by sincere affection and a firm belief in the role of youth in building tomorrow and creating a brighter future for the region.” She proudly noted the recent visit of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, to the Kingdom of Morocco, emphasizing that it conveyed sincere messages and reflected the special place Morocco holds in the heart of Sharjah and its leadership. She added that the visit contributed to opening new avenues for cultural and social cooperation and strengthening initiatives to empower families and youth.

Visits

Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi also highlighted the recent visit of the Rubu’ Qarn delegation to the Kingdom of Morocco, which provided an opportunity to learn about pioneering initiatives in the Kingdom’s youth sector. She emphasised that the Moroccan experiences are rich and inspiring and will serve as a foundation for developing programmes and formulating joint projects that benefit the youth of both countries. The week-long visit programme offers the delegation a comprehensive and realistic overview of the Rubu’ Qarn’s holistic system. This includes tours of Rubu’ Qarn institutions: Sharjah Children, Sharjah Youth, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, and Sharjah Capacity Building, as well as Rubu’ Qarn’s specialised centres in science and technology, life skills, music, theater, and performing arts. These visits shed light on the Foundation’s integrated strategic approach, which focuses on instilling values, developing and enhancing skills, discovering talents, and supporting capabilities to build character. The delegation will also visit FANN – Media Discovery Platform – and its prominent role in building the creative and innovative personalities of children and youth, and achieving sustainable development in the field of media arts culture among children and youth. The delegation’s agenda also includes visits to several leading Sharjah institutions, including the Sharjah Scouts Commission, to learn about its scouting skills system and development programs. The delegation, comprised of field leaders, also visited the Sharjah Olympic Women's Sports Centre, a leading example of women's empowerment in sports. They further visited the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology to learn about the scientific experience of the "SharjahSat" project and explore the emirate's efforts in developing national talent capable of working in the fields of space and advanced technologies.

Investing in youth

This visit underscores the depth of Emirati-Moroccan relations and reinforces the shared conviction that building the future begins with investing in the potential of youth, exchanging knowledge, and unifying visions for a more prosperous Arab future.
