SCC discusses SDPW infrastructure projects

Sharjah24: His Excellency Dr Ahmed Saleh Al Naqbi, member of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) , said the Council discussed the policy of the Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) on Monday, during its seventh session as part of the work of the third ordinary session of the eleventh legislative term.

Focus on infrastructure projects

Dr Al Naqbi stated that Council members discussed the Department of Public Works' role in the emirate’s infrastructure projects, including rainwater drainage projects and sewage networks, in addition to the quality standards of work delivered by contractors. He noted that the department presented a comprehensive briefing on its projects across the emirate.

Urban development and economic growth

In statements to Sharjah 24, Al Naqbi added that urban development cannot be achieved without strong infrastructure, stressing that the Department of Public Works does not merely implement projects but is considered a key partner in achieving economic development.

He commended the department’s efforts and its various projects, highlighting their contribution to supporting Sharjah’s broader development journey and strengthening sustainable urban growth across the emirate.
