The interviews were conducted before a specialised judging panel that relied on objective criteria to assess professional performance, practical achievements, initiative, and each candidate’s ability to improve procedures and enhance work quality.
Interview questions centred on projects implemented by the candidates, their tangible contributions to process improvement, safety initiatives, and public service enhancements. The panel also explored examples of teamwork, creativity, and technical and administrative innovation.
This initiative forms part of the department’s efforts to strengthen a culture of institutional excellence and promote positive competition among employees to elevate performance and improve institutional outputs.
Engineer Aisha Al Suwaidi from the Quality and Excellence Section explained that the award this year includes six categories and embodies numerous positive values the department seeks to instil among employees. These include encouraging initiative and innovation in both field and administrative work, fostering a spirit of competition and excellence, reinforcing a culture of quality, and creating a supportive work environment that enables continuous development and improvement.
She added that the department is committed to adopting a motivating approach that inspires employees to excel, innovate, and enhance their performance — ultimately boosting productivity and benefiting both the employees and the department as a whole.
Al Suwaidi noted that results will be announced following the completion of file assessments and interviews. A ceremony will then be held to honour the winners and document their success stories within the department to highlight and share best practices.
The award reflects the department’s dedication to adopting the principles of excellence, inspiring innovation, and achieving its strategic goal of ensuring the application of quality and institutional excellence standards. It also aligns with ongoing efforts to implement best practices in institutional work and promote a culture of excellence that supports Sharjah Government’s vision of achieving the highest professional standards.
