At its main headquarters in Al Nasiriyah, SDPW hosted the Eid Exhibition for productive families, organised by the Sharjah Social Services Department. The event aimed to support government efforts to empower low-income families and enhance their participation in productive work.
The exhibition provided a sustainable platform for families to showcase and market their products, improving their livelihoods, fostering self-reliance, and highlighting the creativity of home-based entrepreneurs. It encouraged participants to develop skills and confidently engage in local production.
The exhibition featured a wide array of items catering to families, women, and children, including clothing for ladies and children, incense, perfumes, creams, household utensils, spices, and handmade incense burners. The selection demonstrated the quality of craftsmanship and the distinctive blend of traditional and contemporary elements in the products offered.
As part of the Year of the Family activities, the department launched the community initiative "Iftar on Us" in collaboration with employees’ families, distributing iftar meals at several government projects in the Dibba Al-Hisn branch. The initiative aimed to promote solidarity and compassion during Ramadan while engaging staff and their families in humanitarian efforts that reflect generosity and social responsibility.
In partnership with the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs, SDPW organised a virtual lecture titled "Overcoming Lethargy in Ramadan." It focused on strengthening participants’ spiritual engagement and offered practical guidance to overcome fatigue and sluggishness during fasting. Topics included renewing intentions, managing time, integrating worship into daily behaviour, and providing inspirational examples and spiritual advice to maximise the holy month’s benefits.
SDPW also hosted a lecture on Zakat Al-Fitr, where experts explained key religious rulings, objectives, and its role in fostering social solidarity, thereby raising religious awareness among the community.
These varied activities underscore SDPW’s dedication to supporting community initiatives, strengthening government partnerships, empowering families, and providing educational platforms that enrich the fasting experience while promoting mental and spiritual well-being throughout Ramadan.
