Sharjah 24: The Department of at the Sharjah Department of Public Works recently held its annual meeting at the Sharjah Women's Sports Olympic Centre. This location was chosen to celebrate the completion of this notable facility, which was delivered last year. The meeting highlighted the department's pride in its projects that support sports, culture, and community services in Sharjah.

The meeting was attended by Engineer Alia Al Rand, the Director of the Department, along with several department heads, engineers, and specialists. During her speech, Al Rand shared details about some key projects completed over the past year. She emphasized that these achievements reflect the department's commitment to leading sustainable development in the emirate, focusing on meeting community needs and adapting to urban growth.

One of the projects mentioned was the Sahabi Umair bin Abi Waqqas Mosque, located in the Sajaa Industrial Area. This mosque features a design that beautifully blends traditional and modern styles, catering to workers and residents in the area. Al Rand also spoke about the Photography Museum being built in the Al Manakh region, which will be an important cultural venue showcasing both local and international photography, supporting artists and enriching the emirate's cultural scene.

Additionally, she discussed the Falconers Club project in Al Dhaid, which celebrates Emirati heritage and offers facilities for falconers and enthusiasts of this traditional pastime. Another highlighted project is Al Dhaid University, which aims to provide a modern educational environment for students in the Central Region, helping them excel in various fields.

Al Rand emphasized that the department follows clear plans to ensure quality work, meet global engineering standards, and promote sustainability. Looking ahead, she noted that new projects are on the way that will support education, culture, sports, and community services, helping to make Sharjah a leading city in balanced development.

At the end of the meeting, outstanding employees were recognized for their hard work throughout the year. The team also discussed future development plans and exchanged ideas on how to improve performance and project efficiency in line with the vision of their leadership.
