Sharjah24: Salem Mohammed Al Rashdi, a member of the Sharjah Consultative Council, said the Council held its eighth session of the third ordinary term of the 11th legislative chapter on Monday morning to review and discuss the policy of the Emirate’s Human Resources Department. He explained that members’ questions focused on future recruitment mechanisms, retirement policies, and ways to benefit from the extensive experience of retired professionals.

The session was chaired by Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council, and took place at the Council’s headquarters. It was attended by Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Member of the Executive Council  and Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, along with Majid Hamad Khalfan Al Marri, Director of the Department, and a number of senior officials.
Speaking to Sharjah24, Al Rashdi said members raised several key issues, particularly whether the department has a practical plan to activate the proposal of engaging retirees and making use of their expertise.

He added that during the session, the Head of the Human Resources Department announced that His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed the appointment of 1,000 new employees and the replacement of 400 positions in 2026. Al Rashdi noted that the session featured constructive and productive discussions on issues that directly serve citizens.
