SCC committee reviews its efforts during the “Year of Family”

The meeting was held within the framework of the committee's commitment to following up on family-related issues and highlighting the efforts made during the “Year of Family,” in line with the directives and vision of the Emirate of Sharjah to support the family as the nucleus of society and the foundation of its stability and cohesion.

The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Saeed Matar bin Hamed Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Committee, in the presence of His Excellency Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi, Rapporteur of the Committee, and Committee members Abdullah Ali Al Badawi Al Hosani, Abdullah Rashid bin Maadan Al Ketbi, Abdullah Salem bin Tarish Al Kaabi, and Hamid Obaid Al Hamoudi. Also present were Her Excellency Halima Al Owais, Vice President of the Sharjah Consultative Council; Sheikha Al Dhanin Al Naqbi, Member of the Consultative Council; Dr Hind Saleh Al Hajri, Member of the Council; and Abdullah Al Sufi, Secretary of the General Secretariat of the Council.

Enhancing family cohesion and stability

His Excellency Saeed Matar bin Hamed Al Tunaiji affirmed that the “Year of Family” represents a significant milestone in strengthening efforts to support family cohesion and consolidate authentic social values. He noted that the Committee is giving special attention to discussing the issues and challenges facing families and working to formulate recommendations that contribute to enhancing family stability and protecting the social fabric. The meeting also addressed several topics related to family affairs, including strengthening the family's role in proper upbringing, supporting a balance between the demands of family and social life, the importance of awareness programmes that contribute to raising community awareness of the values of family cohesion, and the role of various institutions in achieving this.

Improving family life quality

The committee reviewed its future plans for the current session, which include continuing to hold periodic meetings, conducting additional field visits, and organising consultative meetings with relevant authorities and experts to enrich discussions and reach outcomes and recommendations that serve families in the Emirate of Sharjah.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee affirmed its commitment to continuing to work as a unified team, in coordination with various relevant entities, to fulfil the aspirations of the wise leadership and enhance the quality of family life in the Emirate of Sharjah.
