SEWA hosts seminar on smart city lighting

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) participated in a seminar titled “Connected Lighting for Modern Cities,” hosted by Inara International in partnership with Thorn Lighting. The event brought together specialists, technicians, and experts to discuss lighting projects, smart lighting concepts, technical integration via APIs, types of networks, and the latest operational efficiency, monitoring, and maintenance solutions aimed at building more sustainable and efficient cities.

Expert insights on smart lighting systems

Dr Eng Hassan Al Zarouni, Director of Electricity Distribution at SEWA, presented detailed explanations on network types in connected lighting systems, differences between them, smart monitoring, preventive maintenance, cost reduction, and service quality improvement. The seminar also covered lighting management systems, operational capabilities of smart systems, and real-time control and monitoring.

Interactive workshop and open discussion

An interactive technical workshop allowed participants to share expertise, ask questions, and discuss practical experiences. The seminar concluded with an open dialogue session reviewing key outcomes, recommendations, and prospects for future collaboration among participating entities.
