This initiative aims to enhance greenery cover, improve the aesthetic appeal, and support environmental sustainability and the city’s quality of life.
Al Hammadi added that the municipality will continue implementing agricultural and beautification projects throughout 2026 as part of its efforts to enhance greenery cover and solidify the city's green identity.
Al Hammadi further said that the municipality implemented several projects from the beginning of the year until the end of April, including the planting of more than 55,000 seedlings of flowers and ground cover, including approximately 45,000 seasonal flowers, along with thousands of shrubs and a number of trees in residential and public areas.
Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Al Hammadi noted that the municipal nursery contributed to supporting these projects by producing and preparing various types of plants and flowers suitable for the local environment.
“This enhances the sustainability of agricultural projects and reduces water consumption through the application of modern agricultural practices and smart irrigation technologies,” she elaborated.
The head of the Agricultural Projects Planning and Design Department emphasised that these efforts align with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which aim to support environmental sustainability, improve quality of life, and establish a balance between urban development and green spaces.
