Sharjah24: Dibba Al Hisn Municipality has launched a new programme aimed at fostering a sustainable culture of performance, emphasising quality, innovation, and staff development.

Institutional excellence

The initiative, titled “Ghars” (cultivation) for institutional excellence, has been launched under the motto, “Plant today... reap excellence tomorrow.” It aims to encourage employees to elevate standards throughout the organisation and recognise strong performance.

The programme follows directives from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to enhance institutional excellence and improve the standard of government services.

Performance and transparency

At its core, the scheme aims to enhance departments’ organisational and individual performance by streamlining processes and supporting the municipality’s broader strategic objectives. It also emphasises transparency across departments while encouraging new ideas, increased productivity, and a more competitive working environment.

Awards and recognition

A series of awards will be included in the programme. At the institutional level, they recognise outstanding departments, exemplary executive offices, and achievements in digital transformation. There will also be recognition for successful projects and teams, alongside individual awards for leadership, professional and administrative roles, as well as field staff and workers.

People and innovation

Talib Abdullah Al Yahyai, Director of Dibba Al Hisn Municipality, stated that the launch demonstrates the authority’s commitment to enhancing performance and fostering innovation among its staff.

He said the programme aims to enhance employees’ skills, boost initiative and accountability, and foster a workplace that encourages creativity across all departments and projects.

Al Yahyaei mentioned that the scheme extends beyond a simple award system, describing it as a broader framework to recognise achievements, support new ideas, enhance job satisfaction, and raise overall standards for productivity and performance.
