Sharjah 24: Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) is implementing the "Department Lens" digital system to monitor construction and service projects through an interactive electronic platform. This significant step enhances the efficiency of field monitoring and reinforces the principles of transparency and smart governance.

The new system allows officials, engineers, and stakeholders to view the progress of projects in real-time across various sectors through an interactive platform that displays accurate data, including completion rates, photographic documentation, and the geographical location of each project. The system also provides updated performance indicators that contribute to faster decision-making and improved coordination between technical and administrative teams.

Digital transformation

The department emphasised that the "Department Lens" is part of its digital transformation strategy and is considered one of its strategic tools for improving service quality and enhancing community satisfaction. This is achieved by ensuring adherence to time and technical standards and documenting the developmental impact of projects in different areas. The system currently encompasses more than twenty projects across vital sectors such as education facilities, infrastructure, and the environment in Sharjah, the Central Region, and the Eastern Region, with future plans to expand its scope to include all projects.

Among the most prominent of these projects are the camel market in Al Dhaid, the College of Music, the International Cultural Center, Al Falah Public Park, and the projects to expand and standardise the facades of government buildings in Kalba, in addition to other projects being implemented by SDPW.
