Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) has released the twelfth issue of its periodical magazine, “Omran”, for the year 2025. This special edition celebrates the department's 25th anniversary, featuring the silver jubilee logo and images of the commemorative shields presented during the official celebration.
A wide range of articles
The issue includes a wide range of articles documenting the department's journey and achievements, from a feature on the silver jubilee celebration to coverage of key events, a review of a recent and distinguished project by the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), and the results of a survey on suburban councils. It also includes a "Where to Now?" section focusing on Al Faya Lodge, a "Spotlight" article on arches and vaults in Islamic architecture, and a "Scientific Importance" page highlighting the importance of warehouses in projects and showcasing some of the department's most notable warehouses. Regular features such as "Faces of Public Works," "My Language, My Identity," and "From the Sultan Library" are also included.
Diverse urban topics
The issue also included diverse urban and cultural topics such as the Urban Development Protocol, the Sprouts of Public Works, From the Memory of Public Works, and Techno Urban Development, in addition to a panorama of the Central and Eastern Regions, and sections for greetings, occasions, pen and brush, crossword puzzles, stress relief, and newly released items.
The issue featured a modern design reflecting the magazine's visual identity, overseen by the editorial team of Mariam Al Mazmi and Nawzad Jaadan, with design by Aisha Al Marzouqi. "Omran" continues its role as a knowledge platform documenting the Department's projects and highlighting its efforts in developing infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life in the Emirate of Sharjah.
